Danir's Journey: The Pursuers

They’d been on the road for two days, with no sign of the traitorous duo.
Desmond, his mood already spoiled by the misty rain of the morning, was giving orders with monosyllabic grunts, rather than words.
They will pay with their lives.
“Sir, it is growing dark. Shall we camp?”
With no regard for his loyal Brother, Desmond whistled for his new lieutenant, who came at a run.
“Water the horses. We’ll be riding all night.”
The man, Jalek, nodded and promptly began barking orders to the others.
Desmond's eyes never left the horizon.
They will pay with their lives.
